ABSTRACT LANDSCAPES: WATERCOLORS
These paintings were made on location, from the back of my truck.
This
allowed me the shade I needed to control the drying times of the
watercolor
and airbrush techniques I was using at the time. The important
elements
of the landscape were distilled down to simple shapes, colors, and
patterns
and then recombined to convey the spirit of the place. Many of
these
paintings have the motifs of roads and birds, which like the doorways
of
my recent paintings, are for me potent symbols of release.
